Dates:  BPI Certification Training Dates at the ENVIRO CENTER in Jessup, MD:

Time:  9:00am - 5:00pm, with in class at the ENVIRO CENTER & two 1/2 days in the field

Cancellation Policy:  GBI must have a min number of attendees for each training session.  If there are not enough attendees 1 week before the class starts, you will be refunded in full and have a spot held for you in the next one available. 

Building Performance Institute's (BPI) Building Analyst Professional (BA) training introduces fundamental concepts of building science.  The purpose of this training is to prepare candidates for the written and field exams required to earn certification by BPI.  By applying the BA training's concepts in the field, contractors, building owners and energy efficiency professionals are able to avoid creating or worsening existing safety concerns while improving comfort, durability and/or energy efficiency. The one week course involves both classroom and field training to introduce and familiarize the candidates to building science and its application. 

The week training includes: 

• Monday - Overview of basic scientific concepts, while connecting them to building science and "house as a system" methodology in the classroom
• Tuesday - Introduction of HVAC, hot water & insulation technologies, begin field training
• Wednesday - Review HVAC technologies, common construction terminology, practices and combustion safety in the morning, field training in the afternoon
• Thursday - Review combustion safety, potential health concerns, as well as construction math (e.g. geometry, finance, ROI)
• Friday - review for written and field exams in the morning and conduct the written exam in the afternoon.
